Belly casting is a unique way to capture mom’s pregnant form. It’s a 3d sculpture that is used to celebrate her pregnancy. Belly casting can be done anywhere she feels comfortable. Mothers can receive casting services during her baby shower/ blessing way and/or in the comfort of their own home.
Belly casting starts at $150+ travel fee.
We will start with a short consultation over the phone. This will help me understand your vision and answer any questions you may have about belly casting. After our consultation we will set-up a convenient time to do the belly casting. Casting is advised for 8-9 months into pregnancy and can typically take up to 1.5 hrs. I can cast your belly with you alone or you can include your partner, family and/or friends.
It’s time to get excited! I will provide all the necessary supplies to create your unique work of art! You can think about what type of design you would like to have on your custom cast. If you are interested in getting a custom painting from me on your cast we will discuss ideas together.
Plan out this moment! Think about where and how you would like to be cast. Some mothers listen to music during their casting experience. Some mothers soak their feet in flowers while getting pampered with a cast. Envision your self sitting back, relaxing, and enjoying the nurturing feeling of having the cast gently applied to your pregnant form. This step is not necessary but can be beneficial for mothers! Partners and family members can also plan this special moment for mother-to-be.
Here I come! When I arrive, I can answering any additional questions before starting the belly casting process. You can decide if you want the process to be photographed at various stages throughout. I will also help you set up if need be. My goal is to get you feeling physically and emotionally comfortable in your space. I will begin to cast your beautiful belly.
Wiggle that cast off! We will gently pull the cast off you once it is dry. You will be able to wash off and re-dress. During this time I will clean the casting area.
Preparing your cast. I will cut the edges to exactly the shape that you want, reapply plaster for smooth, professional-looking edges, and coat the cast with a formula which smooths and strengthens it, once it is fully dry. I will also prime the cast for decorating.
Your cast is ready! You will be able to pick up your blank cast within 10 days if you go without a design. I can help facilitate a decorating session with you or with your family/friends during your baby shower or blessing way. I can also decorate your cast for you! Custom paintings start at $50.
