This painting captures the overwhelming awe that can exist in the first seconds of motherhood. After ten hours of labor, she finally caught her baby in her own arms and was struck by the surreal realization that this soft, warm, real life child was finally here. The piece reflects the tenderness, shock, and deep emotional stillness that can live inside a birth moment that changes everything forever.

While her twin daughters were born prematurely at 32 weeks in the NICU, she navigated life between hospital rooms and home, where two toddlers still needed her care. On the day she was discharged from the maternity ward, exhaustion and love intertwined as she finally rested with all four of her children close. In that brief pause, she fell asleep beside them, while her husband captured the stillness of a family holding on through transition, tenderness, and survival.

Inspired by Sierra. She is a mother, a registered nurse, an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, and a postpartum doula, bringing both clinical knowledge and lived experience into every interaction.

Skin to skin feed in the bath with baby Jasmine. Dad captured this little bubble of oxytocin on a warm spring Sunday morning. Trying to boost supply after taking a hit from mastitis as 2 weeks where she lost a lot of weight and was drinking 24oz of formula a day. Now at 4 months and down to around 8oz and so grateful for this journey.
